- Recreate your honeymoon! Can’t get away to the Bahamas again? No worries, Mon. Put on some Caribbean music, dust off the blender and dance while you sip on fruity drinks! Lay beach towels on the living room floor and reminisce over your honeymoon picture album.
- Recreate your first date! Rent the movie you went to see, plan a menu that reminds you of the restaurant you went to. If possible, surprise your mate with an impromptu visit to the place you met. Talk about what you loved about that evening, what you remember about her outfit (test, guys!), how he smelled when he leaned in for your first kiss. Laugh about your nervousness, and what questions were in your head. Try to feel the excitement of new beginnings as you talk about creating new memories.
- New discoveries night! No matter how long you’ve been together, surely there’s something you don’t know about your partner. Tonight is a treasure hunt~ ask about his favorite childhood memory; what did she want to be when she grew up; what country would he most like to visit. Heads up- listen closely for future date night ideas!! This discussion can be as lighthearted as talking about your favorite Monty Python flick to as heavy as what you think happens after death. Be prepared for this to be a very intimate and possibly emotionally charged night; create a safe space for your mate to talk freely and without judgment.
- Dream Time! What dreams did you have when you first got together? Which ones have been overshadowed by mundane life that could be reawakened? Or how might they be tweaked to adjust to your current situation? Create some new dreams together. Make this a fun night, where the sky is the limit!
- Proposal! Get down on one knee and ask your partner to marry you… again. Make it as cheesy and romantic as you can~ laughing is appropriate here! If your mate was the one who did the initial asking, make it your turn this time! Create sacred space and restate your vows (or write new ones). Get out the wedding pictures and reminisce about the day.
